Analysis and feasibility study for the regeneration of a dismantled industrial area in Cornaredo
The former Icoma plant in Cornaredo has for years been involved in a bankruptcy procedure with no successful auctions. The area, after years of abandonment, runs in degraded conditions, which penalize the context and hinder the development strategies of a neighboring area to many of the important transformations of the Milan metropolitan area.
KCity was commissioned to carry out a study that, starting from the contextual resource and vocation analysis, could lead to the design of possible scenarios for urban regeneration and to indicate reference models and opportunities for action that represented a realistic alternative to the inertial course of bankruptcy procedure. An interesting picture has emerged that has led to finding a possible leverage of strategic relationship with other functions and actors in the development of food related services.
