KCity has been commissioned to provide a specialist service to set out the project framework by mapping the key stakeholders involved in the core themes of the strategy and identifying case studies that can inform the participatory planning sessions, through which solutions will be defined for the management of the spaces to be redeveloped.

KCity has been entrusted with preparing the application, providing technical assistance aimed at developing a project that restores the site’s historical value while creating opportunities for the organisation and management of cultural events. The initiative adopts a capacity-building approach to support the establishment of a true local cultural district.

KCity has been commissioned to design and define a project proposal that addresses the situation following the ‘ecosystemic’ approach required by Fondazione Cariplo for interventions submitted under the Interventi Emblematici Maggiori call. The aim is to generate a new model of local development capable of managing tourism while creating benefits for the community.

Following its proposal and coordination of the initiative ‘Let’s Build Community Spaces Together’, KCity continues in its advisory role, supporting an experimental approach based on the temporary and transitory use model. This involves engaging local actors in the management of spaces and services within a green area that aspires to become the new focal point of village life and a point of attraction for the entire valley.

KCity has been commissioned to design and lead a co-design process with key local stakeholders, with the aim of developing a systemic plan from a feasibility perspective. At the same time, the initiative seeks to activate specific project groups that will take responsibility for pilot actions designed to trigger a process of collective ownership of the issue.

KCity has been commissioned to support the Administration in exploring the feasibility of this approach with reference to selected Multifunctional Community Centres considered most suitable. This will be carried out through a participatory process involving local Municipalities and the relevant Departments interested in experimenting with integrated and shared management of the facilities.

After successfully supporting the design of the funding application, KCity has been appointed as advisor for the implementation of the initiative, overseeing project management as well as monitoring and evaluation of the outcomes. The aim is to develop an innovative and integrated system of educational services as a vehicle for regenerating the local community.

KCity is part of the advisory team of the Competence Center established by Fondazione Cariplo, with specific responsibility for providing expert support to assist the entities in developing the tools and methods for piloting transitional initiatives through community engagement, and for monitoring the resulting feedback and lessons learned to inform the final project design.

After leading the co-programming process, KCity is now supporting and working alongside IRS in facilitating the co-design process between the Municipal Administration and the organisations selected through a public tender. The aim is to precisely define the management plan and financial framework for the operation of each of the 35 facilities involved.

KCity is leading a process of analysis and planning aimed at strategically framing the local context, assessing its potential, and defining a system of priorities. This is accompanied by a broad and long-term vision designed to guide local development policies and projects, as well as the search for potential funding opportunities.
